The C-G-D Board of Ed’s first meeting of the year was a short one with only three board members in attendance. For employment changes in the district, the board approved a one-year contract for Ben Lindaman as the head boys track coach. They also approved the resignation and early retirement declaration for Lynette Muhlenbruch, elementary school secretary. They okayed having the board president approve credit card invoices between meetings since the time of invoices doesn’t always coincide with monthly board meetings. In the past, this has resulted in late penalties that will now be avoided.
Board member Megan Ring who is participating in the Early Childhood Development Center Study committee reported on a recent meeting the group had held. She noted that they had received some encouraging information about a possible center location in town, but that there is still much to be learned and discussed.
The district continues their search for their future superintendent as Dr. Bob Olson will be retiring this year. The board will soon be reviewing applications and then conducting interviews in closed sessions.
