Briggs Woods course was the setting for the Lynx Invitational last Tuesday. North Polk won the girls team title with 37 points, followed in the top five of 12 complete teams by Ballard at 53, St. Edmond at 113, Roland-Story at 115 and Algona at 156. Liza Schaffer of North Polk crossed first individually in 19:35.
Ashley Fennel was the top Cowgirl finisher at 65th in 26:27. Makayla Pulido was not far behind her at 70th in 26:59.
The boys team title went to North Polk as well with 33 points, followed in the 16-team field by Waverly-Shell Rock with 62, St. Edmond with 141, Algona with 163 and Humboldt with 181. Zach Sporaa of North Polk took first individually in 16:31. The Cowboys were 16th in the team standings.
Jacob Ingebritson led the team at 40th in 19:28. He was followed by Christopher Greenfield at 57th in 20:00, Luke Brownell at 93rd in 21:40, Jackson Beisel at 109th in 24:07, Thomas Klaver at 110th in 25:02, Joshua Moore at 111th in 25:22 and Ethan Boots at 112th in 25:49.
JV finishes for the Cowboys were Jacob Wharton in 80th with 24:50.
