Iowa Specialty Hospital’s 400th baby of 2021, Matthew Lee Lionel Olmstead, was born on October 2nd, 2021 at 3:11pm in the afternoon to parents Saundra McGuire and Eric Olmstead, of Woolstock, Iowa. Baby Matthew weighed 5 pounds 9.3 ounces and was 18 inches in length. He has blonde hair and blue eyes and was delivered by Dr. Emily Hill. Matthew joins minor siblings David, age 11; MacKenzie, age 7; James, age 4; and adult siblings Angela, age 32; Chris, age 30; Chance, age 27 and Micheal, age 22.
According to mom Saundra, “nothing went according to plan, but it all turned out great in the end.”
In 2020, Iowa Specialty Hospital delivered 508 babies which is the most ever delivered at the facility in one year and we are well on our way to surpassing that total with three months left of 2021.
