Iowa Specialty Hospital is always striving to make things the best they can be for the patients. The latest improvement at the Clarion location is a newly renovated pharmacy. Iowa Specialty Pharmacy (formerly Community Pharmacy) celebrated the completion of the project on Friday, Oct. 15 in conjunction with American Pharmacy Week and American Pharmacists Month. Although they wish the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony could have been open to the public, because of COVID safety restrictions, they kept it to only staff and employees of the facility.
“Please stop by to see our new renovations or give our drive-up window a try. Our staff is excited to welcome you back,” said Pharmacy Director Christopher Medvec.
Iowa Specialty Hospital—Clarion's CEO, Steve Simonin, said “It’s been a long time coming…but we feel the new pharmacy and name change will make it feel more like a part of the Iowa Specialty Hospital community.”
The remodel started in March of this year. While under construction, the pharmacy moved their services to the Meadows Senior Living apartment area of the hospital. They moved back in to the pharmacy’s original location over the Labor Day weekend, and they are happy to be able to show off the renovations to the public and to be able to serve their patients more conveniently.
New services offered by Iowa Specialty Pharmacy include automatic refill, mobile app, and Med Sync. Automatic refill is a way your prescriptions are filled and ready by the time you need them. They will also contact your provider when you run out of refills. RefillQuick, the mobile app, is a way to order your prescriptions without calling the pharmacy. Iowa Specialty Pharmacy also has the capability to fill all of your medications at the same time so you don’t have to make multiple trips to the pharmacy each month. They also have the ability to text, call, or email you when your prescriptions are ready, but the improvements and offers won’t stop there. They have more services that they plan on adding in the very near future for your convenience.
