More than 1,800 graduates received degrees from the University of Iowa in December. Local grads included Goldfield's Emma Fruhling. Local dean’s list honorees at UI included Faith Nelson of Goldfield, Jesse Carrillo of Clarion, and Dalton Nesheim of Goldfield.
Zachary Joseph Thurn from Dows earned an associate degree in Liberal Arts from Ellsworth Community College, located in Iowa Falls. The following local students were also named to the Ellsworth dean’s list: Mateo Martinez, Clarion; Zachary Thurn, Dows; Kaden Bricker, Goldfield.
Iowa State University has recognized students who were named to the 2021 Fall Term Dean's List. Local honorees included, from Clarion: Jake W. Brandt, Mackenzie Lynn Heiden, Jordyn Hope Jondle, Natalie Ann Kirstein, Cole Benjamin Lindaman, Lauren Elizabeth Odland, Emma Leah Schluttenhofer, Tessa Ann Warnke, Paige Corren Willey and from Goldfield, Sarah Anne Rasmussen.
Buena Vista University named more than 500 students to the Fall 2021 Dean's List. Local students who were named to BVU's Dean's List include: Elizabeth Annis of Clarion, Samantha Christensen of Goldfield, Haley Christians of Rowan, Caleb Dahlgren of Goldfield, Taryn Kestel of Eagle Grove, Amanda Morris of Clarion, Max Powers of Clarion, and Natalie Winkler of Duncombe.
Tanner Abbas and Reed Abbas were both named to the Grand View University President’s List. To achieve the President’s List, students must successfully complete a minimum of 12 graded hours and earn an overall semester grade point average of 4.00.
