New CGD Middle School Principal Announced

Aaron Patrick, currently Principal of the Pinecrest Center of the Mason City Community School District, has been selected by the Board of Education to be the next Principal of the Clarion-Goldfield-Dows Middle School.

A statement issued by CGD Community School District Superintendent Joe Nelson heralded Patrick's hiring and held up high expectations for his tenure. Patrick's experience as Principal at Pinecrest "will serve him well in his new position at Clarion-Goldfield-Dows and will benefit our entire district," the statement read. "CGD Middle School is a great place for learners thanks to our amazing teachers, caring families, and supportive communities. We look forward to Mr. Patrick continuing this excellence and adding to the strong traditions established by Mr. Haberman and his Middle School staff."

Prior to his time as Principal of Pinecrest Patrick taught Physical Education to K-12 students in the Paton-Churdan district. He holds a Master's degree in Leadership in Educational Administration from Capella University. He is credited with introducing effective new teaching methods and changes to the curriculum at Pinecrest which resulted in strong results in performance.

Patrick's hiring comes after a candidate search by the Board of Education using the services of Grundmeyer Leader Services, and a series of interviews with both the board and community stakeholders, including groups of parents, teachers, and students, among other community members which were conducted on February 24th.

Long serving Principal Steve Haberman will be working with Patrick as he transitions into the position Haberman is vacating until he takes over starting on July first of this year.
