The quaint town of Rowan celebrated Saint Patrick’s Day on Saturday, March 16. Events began with Irish Stew at the United Church and a bake sale with proceeds going to Rowan’s Outdoor Classroom. The annual Parade began shortly after. Mike Thompson, pictured center in his St. Patty’s garb served as Grand Marshal of the parade. Thompson originated the celebration several decades ago. Kevin Hadley congratulated Thompson; Lee Aldrich served as his driver. Organizers said both events were the biggest in the celebration’s history.
