Wright County Boys Split Matches

April 10, 2024 (Wright County, Iowa)  – Last Thursday, the Wright County girls soccer club battled the Humboldt Wildcats at Humboldt Soccer Field. They were not able to overcome a four goal first half lead and fell 5-0 on the road. Senior goalkeeper Nadia Kaiser had 25 saves in the loss. 

The girls had a quick turnaround and hosted the 2-1 Falcons of Aplington-Parkersburg the following day. Kaiser had 24 saves for Wright County, but the team lost 5-0. 

Christopher Duerte led Wright County in a home match against the boys soccer team from Humboldt. His second half goal was not enough to secure a Thursday evening win. Andy Rivera had an assist in the 4-1 loss. 

The next day, Duerte’s offensive explosion propelled Wright County to a 4-3 win over West Marshall. He had three goals in the victory. Rivera added two assists and had a goal of his own. Junior goalkeeper Jose Alfaro had nine saves.
