At the Wright County Board of Supervisors meeting Monday morning, Adam Clemons, Wright County Engineer, presented the board with different options to address the ponding near Page Avenue. Two months ago, Clemons had explained to the board about an ongoing problem on the southeast corner of Lake Cornelia by the curve where a persistent pond is causing damage to the road. The consensus is that the tile under the road may be blocked. After being presented various options, the board elected to pump down the pond and investigate it with a video camera to see if they can determine where the tile is plugged. The exploratory process will cost around $12,000 which includes equipment like a pump, vacuum, and excavator.
In their weekly conference call about the Agri-Business Park, the supervisors expressed some frustration over lack of coordination at the site. They are also concerned that it looks like Reilly Construction is wrapping up work there to some extent. The Reilly rep was again unable to get on the conference call. Chairman Dean Kluss also asked ISG engineer, Eric Gversvik, to physically visit the site to check on progress.
A public hearing was set for May 18 for a budget amendment. Information regarding what will be amended will be published in a public notice in the upcoming weeks. Auditor Betty Ellis noted a few of the amendments include changes several departments have made due to COVID-19 mitigation efforts and changes for expenditures.
The board also received the auditor’s quarterly revenue report and approved a cigarette permit for Casey’s General Store in Dows.
