At the Wright County Board of Supervisors meeting on Monday, a public hearing on the sale of property in the Agribusiness Park was held. Ennis Transportation Services, Inc. and the county agreed to the sale of a half of a lot, amounting to 5 acres, for $150,000. Ennis will also have the option to purchase and right of first refusal on the remaining part of that lot for five years. Ennis has noted they plan to build a large trailer washout and repair facility within the park. This is the first lot the county has sold within the park.
Sandy McGrath gave her weekly update from the Emergency Operations Center on COVID-19 in Wright County. She noted that they are still working on aggressive contact tracing in the county. She said that there is a round of contact tracing related to suspected cases in Eagle Grove and they may do a pop-up clinic there. McGrath said she expects numbers of positives in the county to rise in the upcoming days. As of Monday, there are 332 confirmed cases. She adds that she is pleased that businesses and industries are reaching out to the county for testing.
Peggy Schluttenhofer, Wright County Treasurer, appeared before the board for a review of the special assessment for ReNewTrients. The new chicken litter operation, located southeast of Clarion, agreed to pay $150,000 towards the cost of the road to the facility. It was noted that once the project has been formally accepted by the board, the company will have 60 days to pay in full or can elect to pay over 10 years with property tax.
In the conference call with ISG and Reilly Construction on the Agribusiness Park, Reilly said all paving and the construction pad were finished last week. ISG Engineer Eric Gjersvik is working on contacting Prairie Energy about getting electricity to the site. He noted that an electrical contractor has said that supplies are delayed due to COVID. Chairman Dean Kluss emphasized, “We’re working on selling property out there, so this thing needs to continue to move along.”

-The board approved the liquor license for Casey’s General Store in Dows.
-They discussed the creation of a new fund for the Public Health Department. A resolution about it will come before the board next week.
-Another closed session to discuss the Pogge land bridge was held with David Johnson, Drainage Attorney. No action was taken following the session.
