Edwards Explodes for 45 Against Cowgirls: Girls Sit at 1-2 After Week 1

On December 1st, the Eagle Grove girls’ basketball team dominated Clarion-Goldfield-Dows, 91-6.

Coach Whipple pulled his starters at halftime. His reserves proceeded to score 38 in the 2nd half of continuous clock basketball.

Sophomore Taytum Edwards scored early and often and finished with a jaw dropping 45 points on 50% shooting. She drained eight three pointers, had seven steals, and didn’t turn the ball over a single time.

Ellie Lenning also reached double digits and shot 53.8% from the field. She had 15 points, eight steals, four assists, and four rebounds on the night.

Adelie Pamperin had a monster night with nine steals, eight points, six assists, and four rebounds. Myka Anderson had nine points in the win, while Azlyn Amonson and Addison Eittreim both scored five.

After the decisive win, the Eagles lost 68-24 on the road against #7 (3A) Forest City.

Pamperin had 11 points and a pair of steals in the Tuesday night conference loss.

Then on Friday night, the purple and gold hosted West Hancock in another conference battle. Eagle Grove trailed by just nine after the 3rd quarter, but West Hancock ended up winning, 52-28.

Pamperin had seven points, ten boards, two steals, three blocks, and three assists to lead the Eagles.
