Supervisors appoint Smith as chair for 2020

GRUNDY CENTER- During its annual reorganizational meeting last Thursday, the Grundy County Board of Supervisors voted to appoint Barb Smith as the chairwoman for 2020 and named Chuck Bakker the vice chair.

The meeting included updates from several department heads, including county attorney Erika Allen, who informed the board that she has left Heronimus, Schmidt, Allen, Schroeder and Geer and will now be practicing civil law from Rickert and Wessels in Reinbeck along with her assistant prosecutor, Kali Adams. She also briefly discussed compliance with the Red Flag Rule.

County Social Services CEO Bob Lincoln attended the meeting to provide an update on the state of the multi-county partnership, which is set to lose Kossuth, Winnebago and Worth counties.
