English Valleys led by Heyne at Central College meet

PELLA – Thursday night he proved he can still run with the best of them.

The English Valleys boys track team competed at the Central College indoor track meet held on March 20.

Senior distance runner Gage Heyne was one of the top performers for the Bears at the meet.

The senior would win the 1,600 meter race with a time of 4:28.23. He was able to best Reed Robbins an Indinola junior who ran a time of 4:28.83.

In the 3,200 meter race Heyne was able to run a time of 9:49.63, besting the rest of the field by nearly 40 seconds. The second-place finisher Parker Gooding had a time of 10:29.83. Heyne’s teammate Isaac Frazier finished sixth with a time of 11:23.23.

In the 4×400 the team of Everett Bender, Teagan Mast, Jack Osborn and Gage Heyne ran a time of 3:50.02 with a fourth place finish.

The 4×200 team of Ben Coffman, Drew Fisher, Deshon Anderson and Braydon Anderson finished sixth with a time of 1:40.79.

Everett Bender finished ninth in the high jump with a best clearance of 5-feet-8-inches.

Kane Axmear was 17th overall in the shot put with a best throw of 39-feet-9.75-inches. Gage Bender was 50th overall with a best throw of 34-feet-1.5-inches.

Braydon Anderson was 14th overall in the 200 meter run with a time of 24.37. Deshon Anderson finished 62nd with a time of 25.54.

Jack Osborn led all Bear runners in the 400 meter dash with a 17th-place time of 56.51. Cael Grove finished 54th.

Evan Koehn was 29th in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:21.96. Frazier was 38th with a time of 2:29.2.

Everett Bender was 20th  in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 10.05.

Hunter Offerman was 26th in the long jump with a best leap of 17-feet-4.75-inches.Cael Grove finished 45th with a leap of 16-feet-1-inch.

Declan Patterson and Kaleb Bolinger ran in the 1,600 meter event with a 62nd and 64th place finish respectively.

Braydon Anderson finished 40th in the 60 meter dash with a time of 7.57. Deshon Anderson was 50th with a time of 7.65.
