Pekin gets first taste of track at Pella

PELLA – Pekin’s track teams ran at an indoor track meet held in Pella on March 13.

Anna Hadley won the girls shot put event with a throw of 38-feet-11.75-inches. Taylor Moore was third with a throw of 26-feet and three-quarters of an inch.

Kayse Miller won the high jump clearing five feet. Reece Brisby finished in a tie for second after clearing 4-feet-six-inches.

Carlie Gambell was second in the long jump with a distance of 15-feet-7-inches. Paislee Coleman was third with a jump of 15-feet-6-inches. Brinley Phillips was fifth with a jump of 13-feet-11-inches.

The Pekin 4×200 team finished second with a time of 2:04.24. The Pekin girls 4×400 team finished with a time of 4:52.76. In the 4×800 the Pekin girls team recorded a time of 11:20.24.

In the boys long jump Will Adam won with a leap of 19-feet-10.5-inches. Alijah Brock was second with a jump that totaled 19-feet-6-inches. Henry Adam was third with a jump of 18-feet-3-inches.

Brody Sobaski won the high jump with a leap of 5-feet-six-inches. Jonathan Jacobs was fifth with a leap of 4-feet-10-inches.

Caden Bender won the shot put with a throw of 45-feet-2.75-inches. Alton Williams was fifth with a throw of 38-feet-11.25-inches.

The Pekin boys won the 4×200 with a time of 1:41.02. The Panthers won the 4×400 with a time of 3:44.91. The Panther boys also won the 4×800 with a time of 9:15.24.
