KEOKUK COUNTY – The Iowa Department of Education has released the yearly School Performance Profiles. These “school report cards” grade schools on multiple categories, assigning a score based on percentage of available points obtained. The latest profiles, covering the 2024/2025 school year, feature an average score of 63.28% for both elementary schools and secondary schools. The local schools obtained the following scores:

Sigourney Elementary scored 62.43, compared to last year’s score of 52.93, raising from “Needs Improvement” to “Commendable.”

Sigourney Jr-Sr High scored 70.99, compared to last year’s score of 70.21, dropping from “High Performing” to “Commendable.”

Keota Elementary scored 66.46, compared to last year’s score of 59.73, raising from “Acceptable” to “Commendable.”

Keota High School scored 66.53, compared to last year’s score of 71.93, dropping from “HIgh Performing” to “Commendable.”

Tri-County Elementary scored 67.03, compared to last year’s score of 60.11, raising from “Acceptable” to Commendable.”

Tri-County JR/SR High scored 67.84, compared to last year’s score of 60.82, raising from “Acceptable” to “Commendable.”

Pekin Elementary scored 58.51, compared to last year’s score of 60.39, staying at “Acceptable.”

Pekin Junior/Senior High scored 64.26, compared to last year’s score of 56.38%, raising from “Needs Improvement” to “Acceptable.”

English Valleys Elementary scored 60.55, compared to last year’s score of 59.99%, staying at “Acceptable.”

English Valleys Jr-Sr High scored 63.88, compared to last year’s score of 61.19%, staying at “Commendable.”
These charts show more in-depth information, with scores at least 2% better than the state colored green and scores at least 2% worse colored red.
