Coe’s Clarahan season ends in second round of playoffs

ST. PAUL, MINN – After making their way into the playoffs thanks to a late-season winning streak, their run has ended.

On Saturday the Coe College football season came to an end in the NCAA Division III second round as the Kohawks were bested by Bethel University 51-26.  

Bethel took control of the game in the first quarter, as they led 20-7. Another 10 points in the second quarter by Bethel gave them a 30-7 lead at halftime. The Kohawks scored twice in the third quarter, but another Bethel score allowed them to lead 37-20 to start the final fame. Bethel scored to open the fourth quarter, and Coe answered, but one final touchdown by Bethel took away any hope for Coe to make a comeback in the game.

Sigourney graduate and Coe starting linebacker, Jack Clarahan, was able to finish the game with three total tackles. He had two solo tackles and one tackle assist in the game.

The week prior, Coe had opened up their playoffs with a game in Mequon, Wisconsin where they were able to beat Concordia, Wisconsin 44-7.

In that contest Coe was able to build a 17-7 halftime lead. They would go on to score 27 points in the second half to move on in the playoffs.

Clarahan was all over the field in that game. He finished with eight total tackles. That included two solo tackles and six assisted tackles. He also forced a fumble and recovered it.

As a junior Clarahan finished with 65 total tackles. He had 34 solo tackles and 31 assisted tackles. He finished with two tackles for a loss. He had one forced fumble and a fumble recovery.
