SIGOURNEY – For the seniors on the team they were able to leave with mostly good memories.

On Dec. 18 the Sigourney-Keota boys wrestlers celebrated senior night with a quad against Colfax-Mingo, English Valleys and Lisbon.

The Cobras were able to win the match against Colfax-Mingo 33-30.

Dillon Menke was able to win his 157-pound match when he pinned his opponent in 1:22. That was followed up in the 165-pound match when Max Peterson was able to pin his opponent in just 15 seconds.

Owen Menke would win the last of the head-to-head matches. He won a 2-0 decision in the heavyweight division. He scored two points in the second period, which was just enough to give him the win.

Other winners, by forfeit, for the Cobras included: Jacob Libe (138); Ryker Van den Huevel (144); Luke Flynn (150).

In the match against English Valleys the Cobras and Bears actually tied each other, 36-36. However because English Valleys had two fewer forfeits in the match, they were able to win.

Head-to-head winners for the Cobras included Owen Menke needing eight seconds to pin Matthew Martinez. Jacob Libe pinned Hunter Offerman in the 138-pound match in just one minute.
