As the season goes on they only seem to be getting better.

Last week the Sigourney-Keota bowling team was able to gain a win over Knoxville in one of the final tuneups before the post season starts. S-K bested Knoxville by 834 pins with a 3,072 to 2,238 pin count.

The highlight of the meet came when SK senior Wells Clark threw a perfect game of 300 and ended with a 502 two-game series. Clark is now the first SK high school bowling team member to throw a 300 game in season play. This was Clark’s second 300 game in a week after he rolled a 300 during youth league play the prior week. Clark is currently tied for the number one ranking in high game for all classes and all grade levels in the state of Iowa.

Teammate Liam VanVoltenburg also threw two games over 200 to post a 440 two-game series to help lead the team to victory.

SK boys varsity will wrap up their regular season on Friday, Feb. 13 at home and then will compete in the state qualifying rounds on Monday, Feb. 16 at Arrowhead Lanes in Keokuk.
