The Cowgirls are now 0-5 in conference play and 0-10 on the season after losses to Hampton-Dumont-CAL, Belmond-Klemme, and #7 (1A) St. Edmond.

On Monday night, HDC’s Charlee Morton hit a three-run homer to left field to help the visiting Bulldogs set the tone in the top of the 1st

Cowgirl left fielder Quinn Brooks would score a run in the bottom of the 1st that brought the score to 4-1.  The Bulldogs produced seven more runs in the next three frames and were able to leave Clarion with a conference victory.

Senior Graclyn Bremmer hit a single in the 11-1 loss.  Starter Tess Wibholm was charged with a loss after allowing six runs on three hits.  The senior struck out one and walked eight in two innings.

The Cowgirls would continue their week with a non-conference game at Belmond-Klemme on Tuesday night.  The red and black scored two runs in the 1st inning, but their Wright County rivals bounced back with 11 in the 3rd and went on to win, 18-3.  Clarion-Goldfield-Dows stats were not available as of Monday morning.

A Wednesday night home game against Humboldt was postponed due to thunderstorms knocking out power at Cowgirl Park.

The ladies had a day off before being put to the test in a battle with NCC powerhouse St. Edmond on Friday.  The 7th ranked Gaels improved to 12-3 after their 19-0 win.

In Week 4, the Cowgirls will be back at it with a pair of home games vs. Clear Lake (10-5) and Rockford (3-9) on Monday and Tuesday.  They will then hit the road for matchups against Webster City (1-8) on Wednesday and South Hamilton (2-13) on Thursday.
