As severe storms swept through Central Iowa late last month, one small rescue in Clarion brought a heartwarming moment from the rain.
On Monday, June 23, during a steady downpour, a kitten was found trapped in a storm drain in Clarion. Sergeant Ted Knutson responded to the call and spent 30 minutes attempting to reach the kitten. When his initial efforts proved unsuccessful, he contacted city workers, who arrived to open the drain and assist in the rescue.
The kitten, believed to be just four weeks old at the time, was safely recovered and has since been named “Stormy” and now belongs to Gidget Wilson. (Photo: Rillie Elston)
