Brett Little, the Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont wrestling coach who plead guilty to sexual assault in 2023, has been arrested again, this time for two counts of Sex Offender Registry Violation. In 2019, while visiting Minneapolis for a wrestling tournament, Little encountered an inebriated college student who was having difficulty finding an Uber to get home. Little led the woman back to his rental home, then forced himself on her, covering her mouth with his hand and a pillow when she tried to call for help.
In 2024, Little was sentenced to two years of probation. As part of his plea, he was required to register as a sex offender. This requires Little to keep police updated on his place of residence, place of employment, and any vehicles he owns. On July 13, Little was charged with violating his registration requirements after the Mahaska County Sheriff’s Office received a tip from his ex-wife that Little had been driving a brown Dodge truck that had not been reported to the police. After interviewing the owner of the truck, she revealed that Little had been driving the truck for approximately eight months and did not have a valid drivers license. Little was arrested in Johnson County on July 17 and transported to the Mahaska County Jail, where he currently resides.
On July 29, Little was charged with another count of Sex Offender Registry Violation, after police discovered that Little had not been employed by Oskaloosa Engineering Manufacturing, the employer listed by the registry, for approximately three weeks. Sex offenders are required to report changes in employment within five days.
Little’s bail has been set at $5,000.
