The Clarion Volunteer Fire Department recently made its annual visit to Gold Eagle Cooperative, located just north of town. As part of the tour, firefighters are invited to take on a daunting challenge: climbing 140 feet to the catwalk… in full gear.
This year, Alex Rosenbaum stepped up and reached the top in an impressive 2 minutes and 30 seconds.

His father, fellow firefighter Gene Rosenbaum, and colleague Owen Kockorsky followed close behind, cheering him on every step of the way.
“It was great to have all of you out to tour our facility,” stated Adam Goodell of Gold Eagle. “The more familiar you are with the facilities you serve, the better equipped you’ll be to respond in emergency situations. Knowing where utility shut-offs, drainage, and emergency devices are located can truly be a matter of life and death.”
